Wayah Bald is a location that no person should leave the mountains without visiting.  The first time I remember visiting the old tower fifteen years ago was with friends at midnight.  The air was haunting. The tall tower, stoic and still.  

We needed an open area, safe for kids, but with a great view.  We found it. To see the tower during daylight in all it’s glory as it stands firm overlooking the endless miles of mountain ranges was phenomenal.  With no hiking required this mountain top wonder nestled between Nantahala and Franklin NC is a no brainer for all sorts of sessions. Can’t you imagine two sweethearts gazing from the overlook?  We can!  

This day was special in that our hot Summer turned cool during a three day period.  Being so high up in the clouds, when we hopped out of the car to get started, the windshield was 53 degrees….. IN JULY!  We are ready to go back and explore this high point wonder again. Ready to book a Fall session anyone??
