Fresh 48

The Ballard family welcomed their second son, Beckett on April 25th, 2019. Back up to a week before, when we received a message that Morgyn was going to the hospital. We packed our gear and eagerly waited to get that call that he was here. You know that feeling when you’re waiting for the best thing in the world...and then you get the call, not today. Although we wanted to meet baby Beckett then, we knew he would come when he was ready. About a week later, we received  a text they were heading back to the hospital and sure enough-- he arrived exactly when he was meant to enter this world. We again, packed up our gear, met and drove to Union General Hospital to meet Baby Beckett and his sweet family. The sweetest part of the session was when Beckett met his big brother. Talk about happy tears! The emotion in that room was beautiful. Fresh 48’s are seriously one of our favorite sessions--- we feel like we say that about every session but there is just something so indescribable about those first 48 hours of a brand new baby. Nothing has to be perfect for these sessions and raw, real life is what we capture. Don’t be intimiated or afraid that we’ll capture your messy hair or post-partum body--- you are a rockstar-- you just did something incredible. We capture mom, dad, and siblings. We capture grandparents and anyone special that is there. We look for those intimate details that capture the whole day--- the hospital cup that you pressed the hospital button 20 million times for fresh ice and water, the bassinet that held your brand new baby safely, the nurses board that told you your support staff-- because they’re amazing too! We capture it all just as it was. We book a limited number of Fresh 48 sessions per month because they require us to be on-call therefore we can’t book everyone. We work through the unknown and we arrive the same day or the day after delivery before you go home. These session are wonderful because you have a ton of hands to help and you get to capture everything before your baby’s features start to change.  Curious about these sessions?
